Advice For Men

At Rigby & Peller we realise that while buying lingerie for the lady in your life can be one of the most romantic gestures you could ever do, it can be a daunting task. It is sometimes difficult to know where to start, that is why we have many men who email us or call us seeking our expert advice. We’ve been told that we have helped to “save marriages”, “avoid divorces” and even helped to “avoid bodily harm”.

Your special lady could be easily offended if you bought her briefs which were too big or a bra which was too small.

We have put together a list of hints, tips and advice which we hope will help you make the right purchase. (Don’t worry though, if somehow we do get it wrong, all purchases are returnable, exchangeable and refundable.)

Underwear Colour

If you take a look into your partner’s wardrobe, you should be able to spot her favourite colours. This should give you an indication of what colour lingerie she would most like to receive.

Bra Size

To keep your gift a secret you should sneak a peek at the label in her favourite bra and brief. Then she’ll be pleasantly surprised when you get it right.

Remember to ask in store, or email us for advice on sizing as brands do vary.

Lingerie Style

Size is one thing but it's not enough. The style is just as important.

As a rule of thumb, we advise purchasing something pretty, feminine and sexy.

Women generally don’t find practical bras a romantic gift.

If your partner has purchased lingerie from us before, have a look at what brand/s she has previously purchased, it will give you a good idea of what styles she prefers or she knows suits her.

To pick the right bra you should also take a good look on what she's wearing most. Does she prefer tight clothing, deep necklines or loose clothing?

Here are brief descriptions of the kinds of bras we have available:

Balcony or Half Cup Bra

The design of this style of bra provides a fabulous shape and a more enhanced cleavage. We don’t recommend this style for ladies with a bust size over a D cup.

Full Cup Bra

This style of bra is recommended for women with fuller bust, we recommend this style for women with an DD cup upwards for best support for everyday wear.

Wired Bra

Underwired bras support and give a smooth line while holding the breasts within the cups.

Padded Plunge or Push-up

An underwired balcony bra will push the bust up to give a beautiful cleavage. This style of bra has a low neck line.

Strapless bras or bras with removable straps will enable your partner to wear outfits without straps.

What is Rigby & Peller’s Refunds & Returns Policy?

Rigby & Peller offer you a 100% guarantee that if you are in any way dissatisfied with the goods that you have ordered, we will exchange them or give a full refund within 14 days. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Unfortunately we cannot offer this guarantee on goods that have been worn, on briefs, swimwear, hosiery or underwear accessories, unless the product is found to be faulty.

Please note that corsets can only be returned in perfect condition. All corsets should be tried over a vest to avoid marking. This does not include Pick & Mix Corsets, which are non returnable.
