I learn't a very important thing
yesterday, before buying swimwear get a proper fitting. It makes sense.
The majority of us have at last learned to get properly measured for
our underwear that, lets be honest, very few see, so when it comes to
swimwear why doesn't the same apply? we seem to forget that we wear
them in full view of everyone on the beach.
So I asked the experts, Rigby and Peller
to give me their tips and tricks on what to think about. It's all about
confidence and confidence comes from knowing, so with this in mind get
reading.
TIPS
1. Organise a swimwear fitting.
Take the time out to carefully select your swimwear. Ensuring you have
the right style, size, colour and selecting a well placed print or
decoration will flatter and slim your figure by enhancing your best
features. For example draping is excellent at defining a waist and
proportion for hour glass shaped women.
2. Look for collections that allow
you to buy mix and match separates. This means you can get the best
combination of top and bottoms to suit your body shape and therefore
get the perfect fit. Don't worry if you are feeling bloated from excess
during xmas you can opt for an adjustable leg brief. It provides more
coverage, has control lining in the front and you can adjust the
drawstring to have a higher leg look which will lengthen the appearance
of the leg.
3. Think about how often you wear
your swimwear and for what activities. Pack a 'wardrobe' of options,
especially as swimwear needs to rest between wearing them. This allows
the fabric to completely dry out and recover ensuring they will last
longer.
4. Have some different colour
options to best suit your pre-holiday and end of holiday skin tone.
Really vibrant colours such as coral, white, yellow and orange are
great to save for the end of the holiday to show off that hard earned
tan but they won’t work against a winter skin tone. Chocolate, purple,
berry shades or jade are good options to complement a winter skin tone.
A bandeau style is ideal for sunbathing to ensure you get a flawless
tan. Not only that but shoulders are a great feature to draw attention
to and show off.
5. If you are sporty person and
have activities planned then you should buy swimwear that has underwire
built in to ensure maximum support.
The Rigby and Peller underwire
balcony bikini top goes up to an H cup and consists of a 3 part cup so
it will give a fantastic shape.
6. Finally beachwear cover ups are
essential to take you from the beach to socialising and they are a must
have in any holiday wardrobe. Covering up doesn’t mean adding inches so
make sure you select a cover up that will flatter your figure. Go for a
deep V kaftan such as this Rigby and Peller one that comes with a wide
waist tie so it will give you a defined waist or a strapless one to
show off shoulders.
